I’ve been replacing this particular ResMed full-face mask regularly for many years. It works for me.
This is a quality product as always with ResMed, whether it’s a mask, supplies, or a replacement machine. I can count on ResMed products.
This is the first full face mask I have. I usually use the nasal mask. I did have difficulty with the full face mask - I had leakage and also kept waking up.
I switched back to the nasal mask but I do not feel I gave the face mask a good trial....I intend to try again very soon.
I purchased this mask “for her” because the regular medium seemed too big and a small is too small. But this version seems a bit tight so I’m back to using the medium. It seems that I exist somewhere out of the customary.
Same item from a Sleep Shop are over $500. I know myself that I had to go without before I found this site/company to order from. Now I have a second one and the right size head gear so that I can hand wash one, I have another for the night. Before now, I could only afford the actual mask once a year $150.
This was my third mask and by far the worst one. It hurt the bridge of my nose, obstructed my view and felt generally very uncomfortable and claustrophobic.
Came back for the ResMed AirFit F40 full-face which I love.
It is a much better mask than my previous purchase with the nose holes!! That is not a good design! The mask I have now was a previous purchase. It does tend to leak and make annoying sounds when that happens. One can only tighten the straps a certain amount to be comfortable.
The idea of not separating each nostril channel is a delightful change. That was always a problem as during the night, I would wake up unable to breathe due to a blocked nostril channel and of course it was always on the side opposite to the one on which I was sleeping.
My only complaint is the nose piece is quite high and very close to my eyes. I am getting a red splotch on my nose from the pressure exerted by the device. I am beginning to look like an alcoholic, which I am not! My leakage has been high (17 l/ hr) but is gradually decreasing, down now to 13 l/hr which is still high? I neither hear nor feel air escaping. I keep trying different things. What do you suggest?
