Before anything else, check the simple stuff: make sure the power cord is fully seated at both ends, the humidifier tub is clicked in, the tubing is firmly attached, and the air filter is clean. A surprising number of CPAP issues come down to a loose connection or a clogged filter. If you have worked through the basics below and your ResMed AirSense still isn’t right, an out-of-warranty device is usually a candidate for our flat-rate CPAP machine repair service.

Common CPAP problems & what to try

Quick checks for the issues we see most often on ResMed AirSense 10 and 11 machines.

1Won’t turn on

Try a different wall outlet and confirm the power supply light is on. If the screen stays dark with known-good power, the power supply or internal board likely needs repair.

2Error code on screen

Note the exact message and power-cycle the device. Persistent or repeating errors usually indicate a hardware fault that needs servicing.

3Loud or noisy

Clean or replace the filter and check the tubing for leaks. A grinding, whining or rattling motor that remains is a sign of a worn blower.

4Humidifier not heating

Confirm humidity is enabled and the tub is seated. If water still won’t warm, the heater plate or sensor may need repair.

5Pressure feels off

Refit your mask and check for leaks first. Therapy that stays too weak or too strong can point to a sensor or blower problem.

6myAir not syncing

Check cellular/Wi-Fi coverage and restart the device. Ongoing data drop-outs can have a hardware cause we can diagnose.

When to repair instead of replace

If the basics don’t solve it — and your machine is out of warranty — repairing is almost always cheaper than buying a new CPAP and getting a fresh prescription.

CPAP troubleshooting FAQs

Why won’t my CPAP machine turn on?
First try a different outlet and confirm the power supply indicator is lit. If the screen stays dark with good power, the power supply or internal board usually needs repair.
What do CPAP error codes mean?
Error codes flag an internal fault. Power-cycling can clear a one-off, but a repeating error generally means the device needs professional servicing.
Why is my CPAP so loud?
Start with a clean filter and a leak-free tube. A motor that still grinds, whines or rattles is typically a worn blower that can be replaced.
Is it worth repairing a CPAP machine?
For out-of-warranty machines, yes — a flat $399 repair is usually far cheaper than a new device plus a new prescription, and keeps the machine you’re used to.
Which machines can Air Voel repair?
We repair out-of-warranty ResMed AirSense 10 and AirSense 11 devices (CPAP, APAP and BiPAP) from our Toronto centre, with Canada-wide mail-in service.
